The Otago Peninsula is well known for the Royal Albatross Colony, Yellow-eyed Penguins, Little Blue Penguins, seals and sealions. There are many walkways, secluded beaches and wonderful views. A great area for walking or birdwatching.
Larnach Castle, the Marine Studies Aquarium and Glenfalloch Gardens are nearby, as are the many local arts and crafts studios. There are several local cafés and restaurants on the Otago Peninsula. Evening dining is available at Portobello, a five minute drive from Chy-an-Dowr. Dunedin has many restaurants and is only a 20 minute drive away.
Please note there is no fuel available on the Otago Peninsula, the nearest petrol pump is Andersons Bay Road, Dunedin.
